Tina Wamala is a seasoned PR expert, with over 12 years’ experience in the PR and Communications field. She began her career as a journalist, working for Record TV where she grew in popularity hosting a number of programmes including the Voice of the People, Super Gal and Day Breaker which eventually made her a household name. She is credited for being the pioneer of breakfast shows in the country because of her successful show Day breaker. She transitioned into PR and Communications professional and learned the craft while at Scanad Uganda, an advertising firm. While there she was entrusted to manage PR and communications for clients such as Bell Lager, V&A, KCB Bank, Warid Telecom, Britam, Coca Cola and Unilever amongst others.
Her accomplishments at Scanad led her to MultiChoice Uganda where she served as the PR and Communications Manager. She highlights the MultiChoice 20th anniversary, Pearl Magic launch and GOtv Max launch as some of her greatest achievements while at MultiChoice. She is currently the Communications Officer at the British High Commission, Kampala.
She is creative, affable, dynamic, versatile and action-oriented and boasts excellent communication and interpersonal skills. She has certification in International Communications, crisis management and mental health.
She is the current President of the Public Relations Association of Uganda (PRAU).
The African Public Relations Association (APRA) is the successor organisation to the Federation of African Public Relations Associations (FAPRA) that was inaugurated in 1975 in Nairobi Kenya to foster unity via interaction and exchange of ideas amongst public relations practitioners in Africa as a whole.
