Former APRA President, Joseph Allotey-Pappoe passes on.
It is with deep sadness in our hearts that we announce the passing away of Mr Joseph Allotey-Pappoe, Former President, Institute of Public Relations (IPR), Ghana and two-time President of African Public Relations Association (APRA). Mr Allotey-Pappoe passed on Monday October 28, 2019 in his home country Ghana. The entire council and members of APRA share their condolences and pray that the Lord grant Allotey-Pappoe family the fortitude to bear this huge loss in the Public Relations Industry and the Ghana community at large. He will be dearly missed by us but his legacy lives on forever in our hearts.
The APRA President, Mr Yomi Badejo-Okusanya has since been in touch with the Allottey family and has shared his sincere condolence also on behalf of APRA.
Mr John Allotey-Pappoe, aged 72 was very instrumental in the revival of APRA in 2002 after the International Public Relations Association (IPRA) meeting in Egypt. He took over as APRA President in 2003 up until 2007, hosted APRA Conference in Ghana 2003 and was influential in the reformation of FAPRA to APRA in 2008. We cannot tell the story of APRA without mentioning the name John Allotey-Pappoe. Our dear Dr Wole Adamolekun served under him as Secretary-General during his tenure as President which he did for two terms.
APRA will surely miss him but will never forget his great contributions to the development of the association.
APRA Secretariat will keep everyone updated on the funeral arrangements as the Executive Council of APRA are in touch with the family. Please let us remember them in our prayers and extend our support in every way that we can.
One Africa!

Coordinator, APRA
