Benson Linje has been President of the PR Society of Malawi since 2022.
He is a seasoned communications professional with over 15 years of experience, currently working as a communications lead at the British High Commission.
Before joining the UK Mission in Malawi, Benson was a commissioned military officer with Malawi Defence Forces where he served as a Public Affairs Officer and advisor to the Chief of Defence Forces and other Commanders of various formations on information operations. During his military life, Benson deployed under the United Nations to Cote d’Ivoire (Ivory Coast) and DRC where he served as Civil-Military Relations and Information Operations Officer respectively.
He is currently the Head of Public Relations at the Rotary Club of Lilongwe.
Benson holds a BA in Journalism, an MA in Diplomacy and International Relations and is currently studying towards a postgraduate diploma in Public Relations with the UK’s Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR – UK).
The African Public Relations Association (APRA) is the successor organisation to the Federation of African Public Relations Associations (FAPRA) that was inaugurated in 1975 in Nairobi Kenya to foster unity via interaction and exchange of ideas amongst public relations practitioners in Africa as a whole.
