Dr. Michele Mekeme, the newly elected Vice President of APRA, is a distinguished PR academic and practitioner with an impressive 20-year track record of excellence. As a Senior Lecturer at the Advanced School of Mass Communication (ASMAC-Yaounde, Cameroon), Michele shares her expertise with students, teaching public relations and communication courses in multiple universities in Cameroon and beyond.
With a wealth of experience in communication consulting, Michele has led numerous high-profile projects, providing strategic guidance to clients. Her professional journey also includes senior management roles in the private sector, where she has made a significant impact.
A prolific researcher, Michele has published several papers in local and international journals, showcasing her expertise in public relations and communication. Holding a Ph.D. from the prestigious Russian Friendship University, she is also fluent in Russian, demonstrating her linguistic versatility.
Throughout her career, Michele has demonstrated exceptional leadership, academic rigor, and professional acumen, making her a respected figure in the field of public relations and communication.
The African Public Relations Association (APRA) is the successor organisation to the Federation of African Public Relations Associations (FAPRA) that was inaugurated in 1975 in Nairobi Kenya to foster unity via interaction and exchange of ideas amongst public relations practitioners in Africa as a whole.
