Emma Claudine Ntirenganya

Emma Claudine Ntirenganya is a communications professional with over 7 years of experience in journalism and program management in radio broadcasting and over 10 years in the communication and behavior change field. She currently serves as the Director General for Communication and Education at the City of Kigali, overseeing media relations, public awareness, civic education, and behavior change activities. 

Previously, Emma was appointed by the Cabinet as the Communications Analyst for Government programs at the Office of the Government Spokesperson, where she contributed to significant events like CHOGM, Women Deliver, Umushyikirano Council, and Kwibuka.

Before her public service, Emma was the Communications Director for a USAID-funded literacy project, leading a National Reading Campaign and effective Covid-19 communication strategies. She also managed editorial responsibilities at Girl Effect Rwanda and held roles as a Board member at the former Media High Council, Commissioner at the Rwanda Media Commission, and Broadcast Coordinator at Radio Lifeline.

Emma’s expertise in media, public relations, and behavior change has earned her numerous awards for reporting on reproductive health and population issues.
