I am a communications specialist with 18 years of experience gained from working in the media industry, academia, public relations consulting and humanitarian health communications. I’m skilled in designing and delivering impactful communication strategies that leverage on media networks, community engagement and content creation thus playing key roles in the COVID-19 response campaign in Zimbabwe’s second-largest city, Bulawayo, and in a USAID-funded COVID-19 infodemic response campaign implemented in the southern parts of Zimbabwe.
I am passionate about training and mentoring the next generation of practitioners and played a leading role in designing undergraduate and postgraduate public relations curricula while working in the Department of Journalism and Media Studies at the National University of Science and Technology (NUST). I am an experienced writer, editor, trainer and mentor who enjoys supporting strategic communications objectives and needs of businesses, humanitarian organisations and marginalized communities.
The African Public Relations Association (APRA) is the successor organisation to the Federation of African Public Relations Associations (FAPRA) that was inaugurated in 1975 in Nairobi Kenya to foster unity via interaction and exchange of ideas amongst public relations practitioners in Africa as a whole.
